Mrs. Helen Kerfoot, of Natural Resources Canada, Chair of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names –UNGEGN, gave an impressive presentation in the Fifth Plenary Session with the title “Geographical Names–maps, identity, and the United Nations”, at the same time serving as a suitable introduction to the Technical Sessions in the geographic names theme.
