PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE HELD IN CAMBRIDGE

The Geographic Military Institute (IGM) participated- representing the Army and the country in the International Conference “CC: The Exchange 2009 for National Mapping and Cadastral Organisations”, held in the United Kingdom.

This conference takes place every two years and is organised by the Royal Ordinance Survey -Great Britain’s cartographic organization. Representatives of 40 agencies from different countries attended the event, being Chile the only Latin American country.

The participation of the IGM gave the opportunity to see at first hand the processes and equipment of the military cartographic production of the United Kingdom; and to exchange knowledge and experience with the scientific community in the areas of geography and cartography. It also helped to promote the 24th International Cartographic Conference (ICC 2009) to be held in Chile.
