Registration rates:
The values here should be paid in Chilean pesos because LOC will receive payments in this currency. It is recommended that registration be paid before the 30th of June, 2009, to obtain a better rate. The values in Euros reflect the exchange rate; take into account the fact that these values will vary in line with the official Chilean conversion rates on the date each attendee pays. The exchange rate on the 18th of november 2008 is the following:

1 Euro = 820,93 chilean pesos
Source: Central Bank of Chile

On-line payment system:
The system on line is linked to the page "Registration" - "On line Registration and Payment" in the conference site. The system provides a form with several edit fields; the data of the participant should be entered (name, contact details, registration category, others). In the case of registering an accompanying person (allowed for attendees in participant, senior and student categories), the information about that person needs to be entered. In the case of needing from LOC an invitation letter, some details enabling the letter to be drafted should be entered (see note below). At an appropriate date, those mechanisms which allow the additional payments for the technical visits, the orienteering event and the gala dinner will be incorporated into the system. Finally the form provides the options for payment by credit card.

Payment by credit card:
The on line system is linked to a system for charging to a credit card. Once the card holder has entered his card number and other relevant data, those responsible for the conference account will charge the amount payable to the credit card account. Possibly there might be minor variations between the exchange rates known to LOC in Chile and the exchange rates applied by the credit card companies of the participants, so if card holders wish to determine the exchange rate applied in their home country, they should contact their credit card company.

Payment by bank transfer:
Soon LOC will anounce in the conference web site the bank account to which the participants can transfer funds to pay for their registration, as a means of payment that is an alternative to credit cards. The information to announce will include the account number, the name of the bank in Chile and its SWIFF code. When choosing this form of payment, participants should contact their local bank to determine any bank charges.

Invitation letters:
Normally an invitation letter is required when a participant needs to carry out formal procederes involving the authorities of his country, for example visa requests, authorisation to leave the country of origin, permission to be away from the place of employment, or obtaining the necessary financial resources, among others. Those interested in having this document should request it from LOC through the contact e-mail info@icc2009.cl.

Payment at the conference venue:
for attendees who wish to pay on arrival at the conference, the options for payment will be annonced soon on the conference web site. In registration categories participant, senior, student and accompanying person, it is recommended that payment be made on sunday 15th or monday 16th of November 2009, although facilities for registrations will remain open for the rest of the conference. All registrations made at the conference venue will be paid in Chilean pesos; for foreign participants it is recommended that a sufficient amount of money be changed to Chilean currency before paying for registration.
